50th Anniversary of the APS Sutherland Group

Celebrating 50 years of Sutherland Group, 28 April 2013

In 2013, Sutherland Group is celebrating its 50th anniversary, after its first meeting in February 1963 in Engadine.

An enjoyable afternoon tea was held on 28 April 2013 at Kareela Golf Club to celebrate. Over 80 people attended including current and former members and friends from other APS groups. A video was produced by Liz Aitken. Some photos are available on facebook.

Souvenir newsletter, May 2013

The May 2013 newsletter features a report on the 50th anniversary afternoon tea including several pages of photos from the event.

History of Sutherland Group

In 2001, member Maurice Haenke prepared a History of the Sutherland Group. Just a week before the 50th anniversary afternoon tea, the long-lost copy of an earlier history by member Dick Dietsch was rediscovered. The 2001 history is being updated to cover the last 10 years to 2013 and will include the earlier material.

Illustrated history of Sutherland Group

At the 50th anniversary afternoon tea, a powerpoint presentation with photos from throughout our 50th history ran on a continuous loop. Some photos are available on facebook.
