Joseph Banks Native Plants Reserve Master Plan

Draft Masterplan, May 2012

Sutherland Council released a Draft Masterplan for Joseph Banks Reserve in May 2012, and sought community feedback on the proposals.

APS Sutherland response to Draft Masterplan

Sutherland Group was shocked and surprised at the changes proposed in the Draft, particularly the closure of paths, removal of tables, removal of water features and reducing the size of the car park, which would make it more difficult to enjoy and appreciate native plants. We made a detailed response to the Draft Masterplan.

Sutherland Council met with us in September 2012 to discuss our concerns and made a response in writing.

APS Sutherland comments on Final Masterplan

In February 2013, Sutherland Group was asked to provide comments on the Final Masterplan before it went to Council for approval. We provided comments with suggestions for minor improvements, but the Masterplan was not changed.

Final Masterplan, March 2013

The Final Masterplan was approved by Sutherland Council at a meeting in March 2013.

Implementation of Stage 1 works

Stage 1 of the Masterplan is proposed to be implemented in autumn/winter 2013.

Stage 1 includes the relocation of the work compound, the new entry area, and new paths.

We have asked Council for more information on the implementation.
