Plant:              An epiphytic orchid with leaves up to 50cm long and often forming large clumps.

Flowers:         Fragrant golden-green to mustard-yellow with up to 50 flowers in a pendulous raceme up to 30cm long.

Flowering:      October-December.

Fruit:               Capsule, 3-4cm long on pendulous stem. Green turning brown with age.

Leaves:          Basal, tufted, strap-like, erect or arching leaves 10-60cm long and 1-2cm wide.

Habitat:           In stumps, on logs and tree branches in both wet- and dry-sclerophyll forest.

Features:       Strap-like leaves. Pendulous raceme of golden green to mustard-yellow flowers. Growing on trees or stumps.

Name:

Cymbidium    From Greek = small-boat (referring to the small boat-shaped hollow found in the labellum of some species)

suave              From Latin = sweet (referring to its fragrant flowers)
