Plant:              A shrub or small tree up to 10m high with smooth bark.

Flowers:         Axillary bunches of golden yellow, star-like flowers 1cm across with 5 petals and numerous stamens.

Flowering:      December-February.

Fruit:               Cylindrical domed capsule 6-8mm long exserted from floral tube.

Leaves:          Alternate, oblanceolate 4-9cm long and 1-2.5cm wide tapering to a point. Dark green above and yellowish on the underside. The leaves have numerous oil glands.

Habitat:           In rainforest margins and dry sclerophyll forest on sheltered valley slopes away from creeks and gullies

Features:       Alternate leaves that are yellowish on the underside and have oil dots. Yellow flowers.

Tristaniopsis From Tristania-like, Tristania being a plant named after the French botanist Jules de Tristan.

collina             From Latin collina = of or pertaining to hills (referring to its habitat).
