Plant:              An erect or drooping fern with fronds up to 45cm long.

Fronds:           Erect shiny dark green pinnate fronds 15-45cm long with a row of pale dots visible along the margins on the upper surface. Stalked pinnae with wavy margins alternately spaced along a smooth stem.

Sori:                Circular and evenly spaced around margins of pinnae.

Rhizome:        Very long, creeping, wiry, densely covered with brown papery scales.

Habitat:           Common growing on trees and rocks in rainforest.

Features:       Ovate glossy pinnae. Sori arrangement.

Name:

Arthropteris   From Greek = jointed-wing (referring to its fronds).

Tenella            From Latin tenella = delicate.
