Family:            Geraniaceae

Plant:              Small, slender and sprawling coarsely hairy herb with flowering stems up to 70cm long.

Flowers:         Small pale pink to white 1cm wide regular flowers in terminal pairs with 5 petals and 10 stamens.  

Flowering:      November-February.

Fruit:               11-14mm long, hairy and with a long thin tapering point.

Leaves:          Opposite, deeply divided into 3-5 lobes, 2-4cm long and 3-5cm wide,. The leaves are hairy and often purplish underneath.

Habitat:           Both wet and dry sclerophyll forest and in rainforest margins.

Features:       Spreading deeply-lobed hairy herb. Tiny pink flowers. Pointed fruit.

Geranium       From Greek geranos = a crane (thus its common name ‘Cranesbill’)

homeanum    From Latin = similar
