Plant:              A small to medium tree up to 15m high.

Flowers:         Cream to green 4-lobed bell-shaped flowers in clusters in leaf axils. Male flowers have numerous stamens and occur in large clusters. Female flowers in groups of 1-3 together.

Flowering:      October-December.

Fruit:               Globular berry 1-2cm diameter, yellow turning red then black. Berry borne on a prominent calyx – like a little Persimmon.

Leaves:          Oblong to elliptic, 4-8cm long and 15-40mm wide, tough, thick and alternate. The leaves are glossy dark green above and pale dull yellow-green below with veins barely visible.

Habitat:           Rainforest.

Features:       Tough, thick oblong to elliptic alternate leaves dark green above, waxy and yellowish-green on the underside. Globular, fleshy berries.
