Family: Euphorbiaceae
Plant: A small shrub up to 50cm high with its male and female flowers on the same plant.
Flowers: Tiny, white to pink 2mm diameter flowers with 3 stamens. The flowers are either solitary or in pairs.
Flowering: August-November.
Fruit: Ovoid 3-lobed capsule 6-7mm long and 4mm wide, yellowish-green turning red.
Leaves: Linear to narrow elliptic leaves 4-10mm long and 1-2mm wide, 3-whorled and alternately arranged along stem. The leaves are reddish when young.
Habitat: Common in dry sclerophyll forest and heathland – usually in the shelter of other large shrubs.
Features: Leaves in groups of 3. Tiny white flowers. 3-lobed fruit.
