Crinkle Bush, or Bush Parsley

Plant:              An erect shrub up to 1m high.

Flowers:         White or cream, irregular, tubular flowers with a protruding style. The inflorescence is a terminal erect spike 20-30cm long with pairs of flowers. The flower spike is much taller than the leaves

Flowering:      November-February.

Fruit:               Leathery follicle 3-5cm long.

Leaves:          Stiff, tough, pinnate, up to 20cm long with margins deeply divided into sharply toothed segments. The compound leaves are stalked.

Habitat:           A common understorey plant in heathland and dry sclerophyll forest.

Features:       Tough deeply-divided leaves. Cream coloured irregular flowers.

Name:

Lomatia          From the Greek loma = fringe or border (referring to the wing of its seeds)

silaifolia          From the Latin = finely cut leaf
