Family:            Euphorbiaceae

Plant:              A small herb up to 15cm high with soft leaves and weak branches.

Flowers:         Tiny, white, 5-petalled flower 2mm diameter with 5 stamens and borne in a terminal corymb 8mm across.

Flowering:      September-January.

Fruit:               Capsule 1.5-2cm diameter

Leaves:          Spathulate to obovate up to 1.5cm long and 2-3mm wide and alternately arranged.

Habitat:           In shady locations in both wet- and dry-sclerophyll forest

Features:       Small alternate leaves. Tiny white flowers in terminal corymbs.

Name:

Poranthera     From Greek = pore-anther (referring to the unusual pores in its anthers).

microphylla   From Greek micros = small and phyllon = leaf (tiny-leaved (referring to its small leaves).
