Plant:              An epiphytic erect or spreading mistletoe that is parasitic on Acacia, Casuarinaceae and other rainforest plants.

Flowers:         Pale pinkish-cream with green tips and red anthers, narrow tubular 2-3.5cm long flowers in groups of 1-3 flowers.

Flowering:      June-November.

Fruit:               Pear-shaped about 8mm long green to reddish with a dark spot at the tip.

Leaves:          Opposite, fleshy, lanceolate to ovate or obovate, 4-11cm long and 1-4cm wide..

Habitat:           Coastal wet sclerophyll forest and rainforest margins.

Features:       Parasitic on other plants.

Amyema        From Greek a = not and myeo = I point out anew (referring to splitting of Loranthaceae into a number of separate division).

congener        From Latin = allied (referring to its being closely related to other species).
