Family: Orchidaceae
Plant: A terrestrial orchid 2-3cm high that forms large colonies.
Flowers: Reddish-purple held just above leaf. Its dorsal sepal is 2-3cm long, hooded and greyish with maroon spots. The labellum is toothed and rounded with a central dome.
Flowering: May-July.
Fruit Green capsule.
Leaves: Solitary, rounded, ground hugging 2.5-4cm long and up to 4cm across. They are green above and silvery on the underside.
Habitat: In ground litter in moist sheltered heathland and dry sclerophyll forest.
Features: Tiny, hooded orchid. Widely flared and fringed labellum. Leaves green above and silver on the underside
