Plant: A shrub up to 1.5m high and having smooth, slightly flaky bark.
Flowers: Axillary bunches of golden yellow, star-like flowers 2cm across with 5 petals and numerous stamens.
Flowering: December-January.
Fruit: Thin-walled, stalked, cylindrical capsule about 5mm diameter.
Leaves: Opposite with successive pairs borne at right angles to each other, lanceolate to elliptic 4-8cm long and up to 1.5cm wide, tough and dotted with oil glands.
Habitat: Fresh Water Habitats along creek beds and banks.
Features: Yellow flowers with many stamens. Opposite leaves with oil dots. Smooth, slightly flaky bark.
