Family:            Pittosporaceae

Plant:              A stiff, wiry shrub up to 1.5m high with thorny branches.

Flower:           White, tiny, bell-shaped with 5 petals and 5 stamens and borne solitary in the leaf axils.

Flowering:      September-December.

Fruit:               Berry, orange, globular, 4-8mm diameter.

Leaves:          Ovate to circular, flat, 8-12mm long and 3-8mm wide, toothed towards the tip and glossy both above and below.

Habitat:           In or near rainforest and in wet sclerophyll forest.

Features:       Orange berries. Thorny branches. Rounded glossy leaves with toothed apex.

Name:

Pittosporum  From Greek = resin-seed (referring to the sticky coating on its seeds).

rmultiflorum  From Latin multus = many and florus = flower (referring its masses of flowers).
