Family:            Orchidaceae

Plant:           An epiphytic or occasionally lithophytic mat-forming orchid with thick branching stems.

Flowers:         Racemes of 6-20 fragrant white flowers. The petals and sepals are slender and spreading 1.5-2cm long. The labellum has a ruffled mid-lobe.

Flowering:      September-October.

Fruit:                    Green capsule.

Leaves:          Ovate, 2-3cm long, thick, flat, leathery and with deep longitudinal grooves.

Habitat:           On rock surfaces or on trees in wet- and dry-sclerophyll forests. Also may be found in rainforest on exposed rocky sites.

Features:       Racemes of white flowers with spreading petals. Prostrate, wiry stems rooting freely. Mat forming on rock surfaces.

Dockrilla         After the Australian author and naturalist Alick William Dockrill.

linguiformis   From Latin = tongue-shaped (referring to its labellum)
