Family:            Luzuriagaceae

Plant:              A climber with stems to 6m long with striated green stems.

Flowers:         White to mauve, drooping star-like flower with yellow stamens. 6 petals (tepals), 3 entire and 3 fringed.

Flowering:      October-November.

Fruit:               Yellow to orange 1-2cm diameter globular berry-like capsule with numerous black seeds.

Leaves:          Elliptic or ovate to lanceolate 3-10cm long and 3-3.5cm wide, thin, flexible and dull with parallel veins. The leaves are alternately arranged along zigzag branchlets.

Habitat:           Common in moist, sheltered areas in rainforest, rainforest margins and wet sclerophyll forest.

Features:       Twining habit. Yellow to orange berry-like capsules hanging below stems. Lanceolate leaves with parallel veins.
