Plant:                   A succulent herb up 20cm high.

Flowers:            Tiny flowers, without petals or sepals and arranged in a greenish terminal spike 1-3cm long and 1-2mm diameter.

Flowering:      November-December.

Fruit:                    Sessile drupes embedded along the spike axis.

Leaves:             Succulent, thick, ovate leaves in whorls of 4, 5-12mm long and 5-10mm wide with 3 veins just visible on the underside.

Habitat:              On shaded rocks and logs in rainforest.

Features:       4-whorled leaves. Tiny, crowded greenish flowers without petals in terminal spike. Growing on rocks or logs.

Name:

Peperomia     From Greek = pepper-like (referring to its close relationship to true pepper plants)

tetraphylla      From Latin = four-leaved
