Family:            Ericaceae

Plant:              An erect wiry shrub up to 1m high.

Flowers:         White, tubular flowers 3mm long, with 5 spreading lobes. Flowers arranged in terminal clusters on side branches. The inside of the lobes are hairy.

Flowering:      May-November.

Fruit:               A ridged, oblong drupe 1.5mm long, green turning brown.

Leaves:          Tiny, obovate to ovate 2-7mm long and 1-2mm wide, scale-like, pressed against stem, with hairy margins and longitudinal veins.

Habitat:           In damp areas in heathland.

Features:       Small leaves with longitudinal veins. Small white tubular woolly flowers.

Name:            

Leucopogon  From Greek leuco = white and pogon = beard (referring to its bearded flowers)

microphyllus From Latin = tiny-leaved
